Shockwave Therapy Utah

Shockwave Therapy for REAL healing

  • Shockwave has been found to effectively heal Plantar Fasciitis, Ultrasound can confirm actual improvement, showing larger, stronger blood vessels for more blood flow, and the thinning of the fascia around the heel to eliminate the tightness..
  • Shockwave technology can successfully address acute and chronic pain in such a way, that it is unparalleled in the medical world.
  • Beneficial effects are often experienced after only 1 or 2 treatments and there is no downtime.
  • This non-surgical therapy  eliminates pain and restores mobility, thus quickly improving patients’ overall comfort.
  • The treatment works by helping to improve your body's own regenerative potential, enhancing blood circulation to regenerate damaged tissue.
  • High-energy sound waves are introduced into the painful areas of the body.
  • It is one of the most advanced and highly effective noninvasive treatment methods cleared by the FDA.
"I was having serious sensitivity in my cesarean scar area, after 4 sessions my pants no longer bothered my scar. The scar is visibly smaller, the painful pulling at the edges of the scar have not returned, my tummy flap size has been reduced considerably and the sensitivity on my tummy is gone."  - J.L.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation is a proven technique that can provide immediate relief to various types of neck pain, back pain and headaches and can even provide relief for other types of pain as well. Spinal manipulation involves a short but quick movement of a part of the spine which produces a sound (called a cavitation). This sound represents a physiologic change in the tissues surrounding the joint that has a pain relieving effect as well as an instant improvement in mobility. This improvement in mobility can then be reinforced by targeted exercises that will help produce a lasting change in your pain.

Expert Dry Needling in Orem Utah

Dry Needling

You may be surprised by how much a few very thin needles can help relieve your pain. Dry Needling is a technique that uses very thin, solid needles to provide relief from a variety of conditions including: headaches, neck pain, back pain, tendon problems, muscle spasms, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, etc. While there may be some discomfort during the placement of the needles, this discomfort soon fades as the needles are left in place over a period of time. The affect these needles have, however, can be quite amazing.
The needle disrupts the mechanism that controls the tension of the muscle, usually causing an immediate decrease in muscle tension. The needle also stimulates local nerves to activate pain relieving neurotransmitters. These mechanisms are similar to morphine in their action but on a smaller scale. Dry needling causes micro trauma to the tissues involved which stimulates a healing response from the body, helping to "jump start' the healing process.
"He used dry needling technique and at first I was apprehensive but, my back felt amazing after!"  - Dana B.

Cold Laser Therapy

Therapeutic lasers stimulate the cells in our body to work faster to heal wounds and injuries. Laser light also improves microcirculation increasing blood flow to the area and enhancing the body's ability to heal. Conditions that benefit from cold laser: headache, muscle spasm, neck pain, back pain, wounds, sprains/strains, tendonitis, sciatic nerve pain, swelling, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and many others.
"My son fractured his wrist rollerblading. We requested he be put in a soft cast so Dr. Ludlow could perform cold laser therapy on the break site to speed up healing. After just 2 weeks, there was no longer tenderness in the fractured area. When we went in for the 4 week check-up, the Orthopedic Doctor looked and looked at the x-ray and said, "If I didn't already know there was a fracture here previously, I would not have been able to to find the fractured area." Needless to say, my son did not need any additional time in a cast and has complete range of motion, with no discomfort at all."  -JoAnna

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Deep Tissue Massage

A form of massage performed with specially designed instruments to stimulate the underlying tissues (muscle, fascia, nerve, scar tissue) with the goal of increasing mobility. This causes an immediate increase in circulation and most patients feel they are able to move more freely. This provides a window of opportunity in which stretches and exercises are more effective. The use of these tool stimulates a mild inflammartory process which basically jump starts the healing process, bringing blood cell that can break down scar tissue, promote tissue regeneration, and clear out waste products.
